America. Land of the Free, Home of the Brave, the Land of Opportunity; a Free Nation. A nation founded on Christian principles. These principles are the recognition of the value of human life, the principles of right and wrong, and each person’s right to live. “Life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness,” the seven words in our Declaration which are a dead-on summary of Our entire foundation. This country was founded by Christian men who understood just what “life”, “liberty” and the “pursuit of happiness” meant.
If you are not a Christian, you probably couldn’t care less about what I have to say here, but please read on, I will explain myself. If you are not a Christian because you chose not to be based on how you have seen Christians act, I, on behalf of Christians everywhere, apologize. Let me be the first to say that I know what you’ve seen and I know what a turn-off that it is. You think Christians are self-righteous, hypocritical, close-minded, narrow-minded, and blocked from seeing the world how it is. Christians say they love everyone, and then turn right around and turn cold shoulders or say sarcastic, rude things to people they don’t like that they say they supposedly love. Christians think that because they are Christians, they are holier and better than the rest of you “lost people.” Christians think that since they’re “on God’s side,” life is just a wonderful place full of Jesus and all “bad things (TV, video games, movies, junk food, sarcasm, tobacco, satire, music that doesn’t say “Praise JAYSUS!” science, pretty much everything fun in life),” are possessed by Satan and must be cleansed, and that it’s that simple, and they want no argument against their perfectly sensible, rational explanation of the world. Please let me tell you that that is not a Christian. Christians don’t act like that. There are people who act like that who sat that they are Christians, but there is a difference between saying you’re a Christian and being a Christian, and that applies to anything, of course, not just to Christianity.
Christianity is not about hating anyone, or being ‘better’ than anyone else, or trying to exorcise the demons out of everything in the world, or passing judgment on people. This entire belief can be summed up in one word: love. Christianity is about fellowship, friendship, and just that: love. We don’t have a list of rules to follow that we get punished for if we disobey. I know what you’re thinking, “Excuse me, what about those 10 Commandments of yours?” The 10 Commandments are the most basic principles of right and wrong that have ever been written. Even if you aren’t a Christian, you follow them every day without acknowledging it. “Thou shall not kill,” well of course, that isn’t complicated. But you ask, “Well why not?” Because, like I said before, Christianity recognizes the value and right to life of every person, and no one person is better than anyone else. You must first swallow your pride to realize that. We are all human beings in a world that is in and of sin. But how do we deal with that? Do we gripe and complain and blame our problems on anyone and anything we can? No. You do something about it. My brother said it best, “If you think life sucks, fix it; don’t make excuses.”
I was interested in politics for a long time, and thought about actually going into it when I got out of college, but around the time the ’08 presidential debate got down to John McCain, Hillary Clinton, and Barack Hussein Obama, I just got sick of the whole scene. Politics is not what it used to be, and America is not what It used to be. Like I was saying in the beginning, America was founded on Christian principles, and for over a hundred years, we were flourishing and everybody was happy and loving life and the freedoms which were paid for in blood in that blessed Revolutionary War. If George Washington were still president, things would be much better, but that is not physically possible, so I’ll just shush that. But…what happened? Where did things go wrong? And things have gone horribly wrong. Terrorists hijack airplanes and fly them into the World Trade Center as WMDs, killing thousands of innocent people, and we blame it on our own country, on our own president. We fight back and try to prevent anything like that from ever happening again, and we get called terrorists, Mr. Bush gets called a terrorist and an oil-hoarding thief. Once again, his own people are saying that about him, the very people that got attacked, that he is fighting on the behalf of to protect. President Bush established the Patriot Act which gives the government the right to listen in on phone calls going in and out of the country, again, for our protection, and yet again you call him a terrorist. What is wrong with you people? Seriously, WHAT is wrong with you? Do you think that’s normal? Do you not see what’s happening? Why would you even want to think things like that about your own country? What’s worse is we have a socialist, Muslim liberal named Barack Hussein (Hmm) Obama running for the presidential office of this country that you actually support! Why would you support this man!? Hussein wants an official disarmament of the USA, and he is a strong anti-gunner. Do you realize what that means? First of all, he is going to pull us out of Iraq and then basically shut down the military. Plus, he will try to take the American citizen’s right to own a firearm. This means that we will be left defenseless and wide open to any attacks from without as well as within. Great man, isn’t he? He is just sending out invitations for us to be attacked. Why would you want that? This is ridiculous.
I’ll tell you where things began to go wrong: Charles Darwin. Darwin taught us that we evolved from animals, and the scientific community, for some reason, accepted that. So, what now? We’re no better than animals, so that just threw the Bible out the window. What’s the point? This is why people don’t value human life, which screws up everything, including politics.Americans have turned against their own country and its founding principles. Two people of different religious and/or political opinions cannot sit down together and discuss each other’s beliefs without it turning verbally or physically violent and leading nowhere except for contempt and hatred.People need to chill out; why can’t we get along with each other even if we have polar opposite beliefs? I have atheist friends, agnostic friends, liberal friends (one of which voted for Barack Hussein Bin Lad-I mean…Obama), and we get along just great. I can’t stand what America has become, and I plan on doing all I can to help repair it, including writing blogs like this, but does that mean I have to be an angry tightwad? No, I’ve been blessed with the gift of life, and I’m not going to let people ruin that for me. I plan on finding my soulmate loving her with everything in my being, graduating college, starting a business, working with my brother, taking care of my parents, especially my dad, who has worked his butt off his entire life, and living the best life I possibly can doing everything I can. I’m on Earth for around 80 years, and then I go off to Heaven in absolute perfect, wonderful, magnificence for eternity, so I’m not going to ruin my time here by stressing out over it.America, you need to straighten up. Remember your foundation, your Christian Heritage, your freedom you fought and died for, your right to bear arms, yourself.
Freedom is not free.
America, love it or leave it, please.
